Quip - Docs, Chat, Sheets App Reviews

I started using Quip about a year ago--I liked it right away. Gets an A+ for being intuitive and user friendly no matter how (un)experienced you are with mobile technology. One of the first things I was drawn to was its elegant appearance, its uncluttered screen. This is one of the things that makes it so mobile-friendly, and, really, it is the most mobile-friendly writing app I know of. In addition to its mobile friendly uncluttered appearance, its other real virtue is just how easy it is to collaborate on documents. I love the way the chat feature works so conveniently with the documents you are discussing. It also tracks all of your editing and can archive conversations youve had so they dont disappear. And Ive recently discovered a bonus: you can add code snippets (though this feature is not yet perfect--things sometimes get garbled when cutting and pasting). Unlike that other ever-popular note-taking app, Quip has never crashed and it also seems to be lightening quip in inserting, updating, whatever. Here is my wish list for the future: I can envision using Quip to do more serious writing on mobile devices, but because Quip doesnt do footnotes and has limited formatting, I cant rely on it for that. Now I know that adding features can potentially mess up the speed and beauty of Quip--which I value much--but I would really love to have the option of doing footnotes (more so than super fancy formatting). Is it possible that special features like that could "load" only when you need them? As it is, formatting options now only appear when I need them, otherwise they take up no real estate on my screen--couldnt you give that a try with footnotes. Thanks for a great product in any case!

My husband and I share everything on this app, including a grocery list, list of household chores, menu for our childs birthday party, our childs medical history, etc. I love that you can check things off of the list. This app is fantastic!

Mostly giving 5 stars for the great support. I wish the base version included better document sharing, but cant expect everything for nothing I guess. For people like myself involved in multiple (often very different) endeavors, being able to keep a team and communication stream apart is really great.

Please make the free/paid thing clear on the app page so people wont be surprised. What is offered for each and the prices. I had to read the reviews to find out there is a $10 subscription for something - larger teams, more storage, ? But actually I was worried about how the app makes money; I dont want to spend the time to learn a new app if it is just going to die or suddenly get a surprise expensive fee.

Quip is absolutely amazing. Best team collaboration Ive ever used. Our organization became significantly more productive when we started using Quip and stopped wasting time trying to keep up with emails.

I find your apps effective, intuitive, flexible, user friendly! Thank you for providing these intelligently written apps, many at zero cost to the user. Those apps that do cost the consumer are very modestly priced! Very smart apps that anyone can use for a welcome change! Great job!

Totally replaced Google Drive for notes and collaboration on documents. Living documents.

This is a must have app for anyone with a business, church, school... Quip was the answer to our business in documents and todo list. It has helped the entire staff participate and stay on the same page with clients. Seriously, what an amazing app! The Mac and Windows version are incredible as well. Just fantastic!

I create files for work, and created a resume all on this app. Its a good tool to keep all of my business files. As for the app, it never boot me off or caused me any inconvenience.

This app will be extremely helpful if it is accessible in China so we can use it as a collaboration tool with our factory there. Google docs is blocked obviously

An absolute time saver for my team.

I keep a long text log and I always have to scroll all the way down which takes several swipes to get to the bottom of the document. The longer the log gets the more swipes I bave to do so its annoying. Would be nice if I click in the edit mode where I see who made the changes to bring me to the exact place in my log. It works great on the web browser version. Thanks!

Just replaced evernote, google docs, drive, and wunderlist with 1 app. Game changed.
